Leadec awarded contract until 2029 at Arnstadt engine crankcase plant
Stuttgart/Arnstadt, 11/12/20 - Since the foundation of the Arnstadt plant in 2011, Leadec has provided technical services there. By being awarded a contract again, the successful cooperation with MDC Power, a subsidiary of Daimler AG, will be continued until the end of 2029. In the next years, Leadec will be responsible for production equipment maintenance, logistics and facility management at the factory in Arnstadt.
Region with potential for the future
“Leadec is on home territory in the factory. At the Arnstadt plant, our services have ensured that production runs smoothly from day one,” explains Markus Glaser-Gallion, CEO of the Leadec Group. “In addition, the region in Thuringia is highly innovative and actively promotes the expansion of electromobility. Leadec already works for different customers in this sector and is systematically expanding its services.”
Services for leading-edge technology from a single source
Being the technical service provider on site, Leadec has provided manufacturing support for several years. The coated crankcases are later used in high-end engines. Therefore, the demands on quality are extremely high.
The highly complex production facilities in Arnstadt comprise a wide range of plant and equipment such as machining centers, robots and electric arc spraying facilities. Being a manufacturer-independent service provider, Leadec takes care of production equipment maintenance, automation and technical cleaning of all facilities as well as tool management at the Arnstadt plant.
Currently, about 50 Leadec employees provide all services from a single source on site and are also responsible for internal logistics, technical and infrastructural facility management. Having a duration of almost 10 years, this contract is Leadec’s longest contract ever in its almost 60-year company history.
