Company History

Founded as Premier Manufacturing Support Services (MSS) in the USA and specialised in Paint Shop Technical Cleaning.

Premier MSS commences operations in the UK. Based in the Midlands town of Warwick, Premier begins winning contracts with established automotive manufacturers.

In this period, our range of services grew from janitorial and technical cleaning to include:

  • Logistics
  • Component Sub-assembly
  • Production Manpower Supply
  • Technical Services/Maintenance
  • Tier II Supplier Management
  • Pay-on-Production Capital Projects

Premier becomes part of Voith Industrial Services, a specialist in facility and production services. The scale of Premier´s global operations, long-term customer relationships (some of which remain to this day) and service profile makes Premier an ideal acquisition to the activities of Voith Industrial Services. The Voith Group is one of Europe´s largest suppliers of tailor made technical service concepts and is a specialist in power transmissions, hydro power generation, paper manufacturing technology and industrial services.

Due to the rich heritage of products and the services offered to various industries by its parent organisation, Premier expands its outlook to provide high quality facility services to related industries, i.e. the transport sector. 'Make Ready Services', a service whereby buses are received at the end of their daily service, fuelled, cleaned and parked, is launched at Euro Bus Expo in November 2010. It is envisaged that this service will be offered to rail operators too. Soon after, Premier MSS begins its first contract. Premier MSS (UK) Ltd. is renamed Voith Industrial Services Ltd. on October 1st, as part of a massive global rebranding exercise.

Voith Industrial Services acquires the business and undertakings of ThyssenKrupp Services on January 18th, bringing a further 900 staff and a clutch of new customers to the UK’s business. This makes Voith Industrial Services a leading provider of outsourced services to the UK automotive and transport industries. The Industrial Services division of Voith is internationally recognised as a 'turnkey' service provider, supplying high quality facility, production and assembly services to the global automotive industry. Our company has continued to concentrate on automotive assembly, supplier plants and now the wider transport sector.

Voith has completed the selling of the Group Division Voith Industrial Services to Funds advised by the private equity investment company Triton.

Voith Industrial Services has a new name: Leadec. The service provider's new independence is therefore also reflected in its own brand.
