The new partnership model enables industrial companies to carry out sustainable upgrades without making own investments. The portfolio ranges from modern energy supply for the entire plant to energy-saving solutions for buildings and charging stations for electric vehicles. “E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions handles the financing and operation of the energy solutions, while Leadec contributes its technical expertise for implementation and ongoing maintenance, based on over 60 years of experience in factories worldwide,” explains Markus Glaser-Gallion, CEO of the Leadec Group.
Investment in the decarbonization of industry
E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions supports the transformation of its partners’ energy infrastructure across the entire value chain: from planning, construction, and financing to the operation and ongoing optimization of energy production and management systems. With approximately 5,300 experts in over 14 European countries, the E.ON segment combines international experience with in-depth local expertise. This results in solutions that meet the highest technology and safety standards and integrate seamlessly into local infrastructures and regulatory frameworks.
“We finance and implement the retrofits so that our customers can achieve their sustainability goals and meet regulatory requirements. This frees up their investment budget for their own core businesses. At the same time, long-term power purchase agreements increase greater planning certainty and strengthen the energy supply. With Leadec, we have a partner at our side who knows factories and their specific requirements inside and out, handles on-site implementation, and ensures long-term maintenance and optimization,” says Markus Mader, CFO of E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions.
Leadec delivers both turnkey solutions and individual projects, particularly electrical and mechanical installations as well as the subsequent maintenance of the following systems: photovoltaic systems (PV systems), battery energy storage systems (BESS), LED/lighting solutions, EV charging stations, HVAC systems, building management systems (BMS), and retrofits for electrical services.
A boost for factories in Europe
Industrial customers in Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and France can benefit from this joint offer. The focus is on the automotive, food and beverage, chemical, steel, glass, pulp and paper, cement, manufacturing, and data center industries. Currently, 80 projects are already underway in Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom.
Photovoltaic system for the BMW Group in Hungary
A project for the BMW Group plant in Debrecen, Hungary, has already been successfully completed. It involved the installation of approximately 320,000 square meters of solar panels across a photovoltaic-covered area of around 510,000 square meters. In other words, 71,000 panels with a total capacity of 43 megawatts were installed on an area equivalent to 70 soccer fields. E.ON provided the financing, supplied the panels, and is ensuring long-term planning security for the plant through the power purchase agreement (PPA). Among other things, Leadec was responsible for installing the PV system on the 95,000 m² roof of the body shop, handling the AC connection of several systems, and implementing fire protection measures.
