Leadec: at the heart of the industry for 60 years

Stuttgart, 02/07/22 – Leadec celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2022. And industrial companies around the world have been relying on Leadec to keep their production running smoothly for just as long. With its services, the service specialist supports its customers in meeting the challenges related to alternative drive concepts, the zero-emission factory, and Industry 4.0. In doing so, Leadec is the only provider to cover the entire life cycle of the factory.

“From a boiler cleaner to the leading global service provider for the entire factory – Leadec has undergone a comprehensive transformation over the past 60 years,” says Markus Glaser-Gallion, CEO of Leadec. “Our vision is: We want to be the leading service specialist for the factory of today and tomorrow.”

The company was founded in 1962 as Kesselreinigungsgesellschaft Reichenberger & Co. Today, we are still working for the first customers VW and Daimler at many sites. The boiler cleaning company changed its name to Deutsche Industriewartung GmbH & Co. KG (DIW) in 1985 and was active on the market as Voith Industrial Services from 2000. During this time, the company expanded internationally, among other things by founding a Chinese company, acquiring Premier in the USA and ThyssenKrupp Services in the UK. In Germany, the portfolio expanded further, for example through the acquisition of a majority stake in Hörmann Industrietechnik. Leadec has been an independent company since 2017.

Global player and local partner

Today, the service specialist offers its services from a single source at more than 300 sites on four continents. Customers rely on Leadec’s expertise in complex processes in the smart factory, e-mobility, sustainable production and corresponding infrastructure.

“We will continue on our growth path in 2022 and achieve more than one billion in sales,” says Markus Glaser-Gallion optimistically. “With our extensive knowledge of production processes and equipment, we are ideally positioned to make the factories fit for the future.”

Leadec is growing organically and inorganically. The company brought off a coup at the end of 2020 with the acquisition of Diversified Automation, the automation specialist for distribution centers in the USA. In the past year alone, Leadec has acquired seven more companies to technically strengthen its service portfolio and expand its footprint in various sectors of the manufacturing industry.

Digital end-to-end solution

On the way to the factory of the future, Leadec is consistently focusing on digitization. The services provided are mapped and controlled digitally by means of the Leadec.os platform. This is supplemented by its own IoT Home Cloud, in which machine data is recorded and evaluated. This enables end-to-end integration from the shop floor with its equipment to the executed service order – from the factory to the service.
