"With intralogistics precisely tailored to the production processes, everything stays in flow. We have been supporting our customers in their factories for over 60 years, are familiar with all processes and systems and have gained extensive experience in logistics. Its importance in industrial processes has increased significantly in recent years. This is why we are also strengthening our logistics services in the factory," says Markus Glaser-Gallion, CEO of Leadec.
Logistics: customized and data-based
Leadec teams keep more than 800 factories around the world running every day. Each logistics solution is customized for the respective customer and implemented on site. The spectrum ranges from cleaning small load carriers to reliable production supply and time-critical provision of spare parts.
Digital solutions play an important role in this. By smartly combining digital and physical spare parts management, companies can significantly reduce capital tied up in inventory while increasing availability to over 99 percent. As a technical service provider, Leadec can directly take on related tasks such as maintaining systems and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) from various manufacturers.
Seamless processes for trouble-free production
At an automotive manufacturer's plant in northern Germany, Leadec is responsible for several warehouses containing non-production material (NPM). The range of around 50,000 items extends from work gloves and tools to welding robots. Standard orders are delivered within 24 hours, urgent spare parts within 45 minutes, so that production never comes to a standstill.
A team of 90 employees assembles 1,700 wheels every day at the Leadec assembly plant in Kokotów, Poland. These are delivered to the nearby MAN plant in Niepołomice and are fed into production just-in-time and just-in-sequence. This is made possible by direct connection to the customer's various software tools, including for delivery tracking, warehouse management, production sequencing, and shipping.
Geater sustainability through intelligent solutions
For the Scania plant in Angers, France, a 70-strong Leadec team is taking over empties management, both at the truck plant and at the associated packaging handling center. Hundreds of tons of packaging are dismantled, sorted, and prepared for reuse. The materials are then returned to Scania's suppliers. This closed-loop logistics process reduces waste and saves resources.
With a digital solution, Leadec is optimizing waste management at two locations of an automobile manufacturer in Germany. To ensure that each type of waste is disposed of appropriately, Leadec has equipped more than 6,000 waste containers with QR codes, which are weighed and scanned at each collection. Digital waste tracking provides a better overview of waste streams, increases recycling rates, and reduces costs.
Holistic logistics processes
“We combine expertise, knowledge of processes, and technological integration to create holistic production and logistics processes. While our customers focus on their core processes in production, we ensure that everything runs smoothly in internal logistics,” adds Markus Glaser-Gallion.
