Carolin’s Journey: from working student to IT project manager

Carolin, what have been the key milestones of your journey at Leadec?
Actually, it all started with a notice at my university at the time, where I was studying business informatics. Leadec was looking for a working student, and that’s how I ended up in the IT department. As a working student, I took care of everything to do with the IT workplace, whether it was the hardware or the software. After a year, I wrote my bachelor’s thesis in this department as well. The topic was the opportunities and risks of moving corporate IT and data to the cloud. The direct link to Leadec and our digitization strategy made it very exciting! And after graduating, I stayed on.
What particularly supports you on your journey?
My department, the whole team, they are really great. My managers give me freedom to make decisions and we live a positive error culture. I enjoy full support. At the same time, I’m constantly learning something new, whether directly in the projects or through training.
Do you have any tips for new colleagues when it comes to their journey at Leadec?
Development is always something individual. It helps if you have your own plan for how you want to develop. But to really make progress, you have to be courageous and take action. If you express your wishes and goals clearly, make yourself visible and are prepared to take responsibility, you will have many opportunities at Leadec. And sometimes a little patience also pays off.
