Optimal Asset Recording With “LARA” App

There are several thousand plants and machines in a factory. If they are all to be reliably maintained, a proper inventory list is a must. However, it is often difficult to find up-to-date and reliable data. When Leadec takes on a Technical Facility Management job in the factory now, asset recording is made easier thanks to the new “LARA” ( Leadec Asset Recording & Administration) app.

Nothing works in a production facility without heat, refrigeration and electricity. Behind this are countless individual technical systems that are inspected, serviced and maintained as part of technical facility management. Depending on the building, such plant and equipment can easily add up to several thousand individual assets – from fire doors to electrical distribution panels to ventilation systems. Comprehensive and careful asset recording and thus a precise overview of the inventory is the first step towards their optimal management. In this way, processes can be planned, controlled and, if need be, liability questions can be answered easily. But what sounds simple is the result of a complex, time-consuming process.

Out of the data chaos

The reason often lies in the unclear data situation. How up-to-date is the information? In what formats is it available? In order to make the customer’s life easier, the Leadec team obtains an overview of the existing assets on site, evaluates their condition, records them and checks the master data against the actual assets. What was previously done with various systems will in future be supported by an intelligent app: “Leadec Asset Recording & Administration,” or LARA for short, is an in-house development by Leadec and ideally suited to the customers’ properties. With the solution, there will be only one interface through which data from the factory is recorded and processed further. Kristin Jührendt, expert for technical facility management at Leadec in Europe, knows: “With the new LARA app we can not only work more effectively and faster, but we also significantly increase data quality.” This is particularly relevant for customers, who thus have complete transparency of their own factory and the condition of all assets. Legally compliant, in line with standards and always up to date. And if required, the data is also transferred to the customer’s system.

Data processing with Leadec.os

On the shop floor, asset data is recorded with a powerful data processing system in the background. The basis for this is Leadec’s own IoT-Home-Cloud, in which the recordings are checked, matched and enriched for further processing in the company’s own CAFM system Leadec.os. Standardized reports on the status of the recording, but also on possible defects, can be created at the touch of a button. And activities can then be planned and orders placed directly from Leadec.os. “It is important for customers to have transparency about their property and, of course, about our activities,” says Terence Gudat, the project manager responsible at Leadec. “We provide that and save time and money on asset recording, while customers benefit from higher quality and better service.”
