Sustainability Report 2023: “Driving sustainable manufacturing together”

The new sustainability report is available – and for the first time it is based on the new requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). At the same time, it provides a comprehensive overview of projects and activities relating to sustainability at Leadec.

It is 64 pages long, it is published in English and German for the first time, and it is packed with all the activities and key figures relating to sustainability at Leadec in 2023. Anyone who reads the report carefully will notice new terms such as “CSRD,” “scope 1–3,” and “double materiality analysis.” “For the first time, we have based this report on the new EU standards on how sustainability must be reported,” says Markus Bölke, Global Head of Green Factory Solutions, Sustainability & HSE at Leadec. “Although we are not obliged to report in accordance with the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) until the 2025 fiscal year, we want to be well prepared and know early on where we stand, what data is available, and where we still need to close gaps.”

From Green Factory Solutions to diversity

Whether it’s the global Cleanup Week, an interview on occupational safety, a tour of the “green” factory or facts and figures on diversity and inclusion: the new report focuses on the people at Leadec. The report shows that behind the figures in the report are concrete actions and committed employees who are driving Leadec and its customers forward on the path to a more sustainable future.

Key figures

  • The Leadec Group’s total energy consumption was reduced from 17 to 15 million kWh
  • The waste recycling rate was increased from 63% to 67%
  • In total, 75% of the operating units are now ISO 14001 certified
