Leadec partners with Microsoft to provide IIoT-driven value for the shop floor

Stuttgart, Germany, 11/03/2022 – Leadec, a leading global service specialist for factories, partners with Microsoft to help factories reach the next level of performance with IIoT-driven services based on the Microsoft Cloud Platform.

“The sweet spot of value creation is where IT meets OT. That’s exactly where Leadec works with factory managers to improve the performance of their production facilities. Many see the potential of IIoT-based solutions but are finding it difficult to get started. That’s why we offer them a risk-free process towards scalable value creation,” explains Markus Hucko, COO of Leadec.

Today, Leadec is announcing a new collaboration with Microsoft to help customers unlock the huge potential of IIoT-based solutions, e.g. increasing factory output and quality while reducing costs and inventory. Leadec has been supporting its customers in the manufacturing industries for 60 years and brings a wealth of experience in IT for the shop floor as well as expertise in production facilities. Microsoft Azure IoT services offers the optimal platform for creating scalable value. They will benefit from the combined competencies of Leadec's OT expertise and Microsoft's scalable IT solutions.

“Leadec is a strong partner for the digital transformation of our manufacturing customers in the ‘German Mittelstand’. Leadec’s particular, long-standing and international experience in the manufacturing environment helps our customers to achieve more with the Microsoft Cloud Platform,” says Oliver Gürtler, Head of SME, Member of the Board of Directors, Microsoft Deutschland GmbH.

Reliable process and scalable solutions

Dedicated teams of experts begin with an IIoT strategy assessment at the customers’ sites, including assessment of technical readiness, IoT target architecture, rollout scenarios, roadmap and cost indications for operation and implementation. To show customers what is possible using a real IIoT use case for the factory, at least one minimum viable product (MVP) is also part of the offer.

Leadec has successfully demonstrated the added value of IIoT solutions that can be achieved in various areas. For example, vibration analytics helps prevent downtime and production losses, quality monitoring increases the number of parts released for production and digital waste tracking creates cost transparency. The goal is a state-of-the-art factory performance and scalable value creation on the shop floor.
