Two-fold contract for Leadec: Production equipment maintenance for battery lines

Stuttgart, Germany, 3/12/20 - Leadec is preparing for two trend-setting contracts in the field of electric mobility. From March 2020, Leadec will take over the product equipment maintenance for battery production in Kamenz. In addition, the industrial service specialist won the contract for the entire production equipment maintenance for the assembly lines in a plant in Jawor, Poland. Both contracts have been awarded together.

As a leading provider of technical services in the automotive and manufacturing industries, Leadec focuses on the further development of intelligent concepts in industrial services, which has led to the acquirement of two important contracts from Mercedes Benz AG in Germany and Poland. Leadec is already working at both sites and can now expand its maintenance activities. Leadec has been assembling the battery casings for Accumotive at the Hoyerswerda site since May 2019. From March 1, 2020, Leadec will also be responsible for battery assembly maintenance in Kamenz. In Jawor, Poland, Leadec is currently responsible for engine production line maintenance; however, battery production facilities will now be added to their responsibilities. The term of each contract is five years.

A pioneering project with future potential

The two contracts for maintenance activities for battery lines are the first of their kind in Europe. Due to Leadec’s expertise in handling new technologies for a battery line, renowned references in the field of maintenance in the region, and innovative approaches, Leadec prevailed over several competitors. The service provider thus manages a total of eight battery lines. “This is a pioneering project in the rapidly growing electric mobility market. Our service includes production equipment maintenance for assembly lines on which automotive battery systems   are assembled and the associated automated guided vehicles. We are very pleased that we were able to convince with our concept,” says Markus Glaser-Gallion, CEO of Leadec.
